Having lived in the Tampa Bay area since 2017, St. Pete Beach quicky became one of my favorite day trips from Tampa, and let me tell you—this spot truly has it all. From fun-filled activities and amazing restaurants to lively beach bars perfect for catching those unbeatable sunsets, there’s always something exciting happening here.
This sunny slice of paradise promises fun and relaxation in equal measure, so let’s dive into everything it has to offer!
Things to Do in St. Pete Beach
1. Relax on the Beach
Obviously one of the best things to do in St. Pete Beach is kick back and soak in the sun! St. Pete Beach’s soft white sand and crystal-clear waters (okay, that part is weather-dependent) are the ultimate recipe for relaxation.
But if you’re looking to level up your beach day, The Cabana Club is where it’s at! They’ll handle the setup and tear-down for you, and provide everything from water, sunscreen, and portable chargers to a speaker and more—so you can lounge without a care. It’s perfect for birthdays, bach parties, or even just a luxurious chill day.
Feeling adventurous? In front of TradeWinds Island Resorts, you’ll find a massive inflatable water slide that’s pure joy for all ages. And during summer, they even have a super fun floating water park!
2. Beach Bar Hop
Why settle for just a beach day when you can make it a boozy adventure? St. Pete Beach has some of the liveliest beach bars around. Head to PCI, Jimmy B’s, or Coconut Charlie’s for great drinks, live music, and a lively crowd.
Many of these spots even offer beach volleyball or other games, so you can sip and spike your way through a sun-soaked day! Check out my favorite St. Pete Beach bars here!
3. Florida Orange Groves Winery
Need a beach break? Head to Florida Orange Groves Winery, one of my favorite wineries in the Tampa Bay area. This family-owned spot crafts over 43 varieties of wine, ranging from citrusy and tropical to port and sparkling wines. Their daily tastings are a blast: sample a curated flight, pick your fave, and enjoy slushie samples to top it off!
If you’re feeling adventurous, try the Hot Sun tomato wine with a splash of bloody mary mix—it’s a unique and tasty twist. They also host fun events like comedy nights and paint-and-sip parties, so keep an eye on their calendar.

4. Mastry’s Brewing Co.
Calling all craft beer lovers! Mastry’s Brewing Co. isn’t just your average beachside brewery—it’s the first one ever to set up shop on St. Pete Beach! Starting in 2014 as a cozy brewpub, it’s since blossomed into a hotspot for innovative brews and good vibes.
From crisp pilsners to bold porters, they have a little something for everyone. Don’t skip the MADE Porter, with its rich notes of chocolate and coffee, or their award-winning Hefeweizen, a true local favorite.

You’ll find people of all ages dancing, drumming, and soaking up the free-spirited energy. Bring your own instrument, join the groove, or just chill and enjoy the scene!
Heads-up if you’re bringing kids: the vibe is laid-back, but some attendees may be embracing Florida’s more “recreational” side.

Looking for a memorable romantic restaurant for date night? Spinners is an absolute must. This revolving restaurant offers 360-degree views of the beach and serves up a dreamy atmosphere for a romantic evening out. Don’t worry, the rotation is so slow you’ll barely notice it! They even have a vibey rooftop bar with a slightly more relaxed vibe as well.
